From me to we
RCL Reflection for September 27, 2020
God’s been focusing on community since God spoke everything into being with “let us,” not “let me.” We can’t do this difficult work on our own, but by the grace of God, the love of Christ, and the nudging of the Holy Spirit we can lean into community, converse across divides, and find common ground. Words, Actions, and the Goodness of God
RCL Reflection, 17th Sunday after Pentecost, Year A, October 1, 2017
As people called to love God and neighbor, our sinfulness and poor choices often affect others. We are called to be faithful and good stewards of everything—our time, talent, and resources, even of one another. We are called to be people of actions and not empty words. We are called to recognize that God desires good for all of creation, and that we are partners in that ongoing effort. (Photo: highersights, Creative Commons)

16th Sunday after Pentecost, Year A, Lectionary Reflection
Sept. 28, 2014
This week’s epistle lesson offers a wonderful opportunity to begin a conversation about stewardship without mentioning money, much less asking for any. What are you waiting for? Start the conversation! (Photo: Ricardo Camacho, Creative Commons)
What will it be—Yes or No?
Lectionary Reflection for Sept. 25, 2011
Do we say the right things but don’t do the right thing? If so, what will it take to experience a change in priorities and to recognize a new authority? What will you preach or teach this Sunday? (Photo by YourLocalDave used under Creative Commons License. Thanks!)
